Privacy policy
Effective October 30, 2026
Hi-Fi Comps (hificomps.com) is a free database of used stereo gear prices. This page explains what information we collect and how we use it. The short version: we only collect your email address, and only if you sign up for the newsletter.
What we collect
If you subscribe to the weekly deals newsletter, we collect your email address and nothing else. You don't need an account to use the site.
How we use it
We use your email address only to send you the Hi-Fi Comps newsletter and a one-time welcome email. We don't sell, rent, or share it with anyone for their own marketing.
Who processes it
Our email list is stored and sent through Resend, our email service provider, which handles it on our behalf. The site is hosted on Vercel, and page fonts load from Google Fonts, so those providers may see basic technical information such as your IP address when you visit.
Analytics
We use Vercel Web Analytics to count page views. It is cookieless: it doesn't set cookies or track you across other websites, and we only see aggregate numbers such as pages viewed and referring sites.
Affiliate links and cookies
Some parts links go to Amazon and eBay through their affiliate programs and are marked “affiliate”. If you click one, Amazon or eBay may set their own cookies to credit the referral. Those cookies are governed by their privacy policies, not ours. Hi-Fi Comps itself doesn't set advertising cookies.
Unsubscribe or delete your data
To stop getting emails, reply “unsubscribe” to any newsletter or email hello@hificomps.com. To have your email address deleted from our list entirely, email the same address and we'll remove it.
Children
Hi-Fi Comps is not directed to children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from them. If you think a child has signed up, email us and we'll delete it.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update this page and the effective date above.
